STRIPE.COM INTEGRATION FOR PAYMENT AND SUBSCRIPTION MANAGEMENT
The client required the ability to collect credit card, ApplePay, and GooglePay for their member subscriptions. Whenever customer information – especially payment information – is involved, integration with a Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliant merchant service and merchant gateway provider prevents the client from having to manage PCI compliance themselves. Stripe.com combines these two functions in one platform, and includes SaaS connections for those who understand how to use them. However, no platform does all things well without customization.
The client engaged Cappers, Inc. to design and build an easy-to-use payment and subscription platform with API connections to Stripe.com.
USER-STORY DRIVEN SCOPE
Cappers worked with the client to determine access levels, capabilities, and responsibilities for administrators and several levels of members.
The project scope included not only what each screen of the custom application had to do, but also what each API connection to Stripe.com had to deliver.
The scope was defined to prevent data breaches by design.
Local tax calculation by member location was critical.
Robust financial reporting not available in Stripe.com was included.
The system needed to automatically prorate partial months.
